This blog is run by four awesome people in Journalism 1! It's all about Journalism... and the craziest news stories and books from around the world!!!
DID YOU KNOW.....
*It’s estimated that at any one time around 0.7% of the world’s population is drunk. (HAHHAHAHAHAHA and most of them are at the Rat!)
*Triskaidekaphobia means fear of the number 13. (they DO say it's unlucky)
*Paraskevidekatriaphobia means fear of Friday the 13th (which occurs one to three times a year). (COOL!)
*In Italy, 17 is considered an unlucky number. In Japan, 4 is considered an unlucky number. (lucky we don't live there then!)
*Bruce Lee was so fast that they had to slow the film down so you could see his moves. (COOL! he's awesome!)
*If you put a drop of liquor on a scorpion, it will instantly go mad and sting itself to death. (wow... good thing ROAR is campaigning this week!)
*Giraffes and rats can last longer without water than camels. (wouldn't surprise me if rats were bulletproof too!)
*There is no word in the English language that rhymes with "month" (and you can't rhyme anything with "silver" either")
*What is called a "French kiss" in the English speaking world is known as an "English kiss" in France. (aww... that's kinda cute!)
*Honey is the only food that does not spoil. Honey found in the tombs of Egyptian pharaohs has been tasted by archaeologists and found edible. (Bees are awesome!)
*Adolf Hitler was a vegetarian, and had only ONE testicle. (hahahahahhahahahhahahahhahaha!)
*When you blush, the lining of your stomach also turns red. (At least it isn't as noticeable as your cheeks!)
*The roar that we hear when we place a seashell next to our ear is not the ocean, but rather the sound of blood surging through the veins in the ear. (Well... so much for the old childhood stories...)
*Chewing gum while peeling onions will keep you from crying. (It really works!!)
*In Florida, it is illegal to fart in a public place after 6 P.M. on Thursdays. (Not specific at all...nooo)
*In California it is illegal for a vehicle without a driver to exceed 100 kilometers per hour. (Yeah.... but a car going 90 without a driver is all good!)
*In Alberta, Canada, it is illegal to set fire to the wooden leg of a wooden legged man. (Guess it's alright if he has a plastic leg then?)
*In England, a bed may not be hung out of a window. (Yes... bed out of window....BAD!)
*In Australia, it is illegal to roam the streets wearing black clothes, felt shoes and black shoe polish on your face as these items are the tools of a cat burglar. (It's also illegal to dress up as Bat Man...)
*In Israel, it is forbidden to bring bears to the beach. (...just in case any body had that urge?)
*In Saudi Arabia, it is illegal to kiss a stranger. (well then just make sure they aren't at Friars on a Saturday night!)
